With 1,446,560 liters (382,140 gallons) of water and a total area of 5,775 m² (62, 162 ft2), Acqua Mundo is a true entertainment complex with a food court (bars, ice cream shops, and cafeterias), theme store, and the largest exhibit of aquatic organisms in South America. The largest attraction is the Ocean, a tank with 800,000 liters (211,000 gallons) of saltwater, especially built for the exhibition of large shoals of fish and fish from open sea, such as sharks. Acqua Mundo desplays various aquatic animal species, representative of the most diverse environments and zoological groups – sharks, penguins and other aquatic birds, freshwater and saltwater fish, turtles, and reptiles such as lizards, alligators, and snakes.
